French Toast Croissants and Filling

  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/4 Cup Milk
  • 4 Croissants
  • 1 Tsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Cup Mascarpone Cheese
  • Raspberry Jam
  • Fresh Berries (of your choice)
  • 1 Tbs Honey
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Lemons

Home Made Mascarpone

  • 1 Cup Heavy whipping Cream
  • 1 Tbs Vanilla Extract
  1. Mix one cup of mascarpone cheese with the zest of 2 large lemons and add the honey and vanilla. Mix well.
  2. Beat the eggs and milk in a bowl, then dip the croissant halves in the mix. Heat 2-3 tbs of oil and gently toast the halves, turning over after a minute or so.
  3. Spread raspberry Jam on the bottom half of the croissant
  4. Top each croissant half with 1 tbs of the mascarpone.
  5. Add the fresh berries and press the 2 halves together.
  6. Drizzle with Honey and serve.

To make homemade mascarpone

  1.  Pour the heavy cream in a saucepan, and slowly bring to a low simmer (180 °F). Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes over low heat, then add the fresh lemon juice, and simmer for another 3 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat, and allow to cool off to room temperature. It will thicken slightly but will not curd. Line a strainer with 4 layers of cheesecloth and place over a bowl. Pour the cream in the strainer, tie the ends of the cheesecloth together, and cover with plastic wrap. Leave in the fridge overnight for a softer mascarpone cheese, or longer for a harder consistency.

The Origins of French Toast:

Historically, French toast dates back centuries, with variations found in cultures around the world. The concept of soaking bread in a mixture of eggs and milk can be traced to medieval times, making it a delightful testament to culinary ingenuity. Our Croissant French Toast pays homage to this timeless tradition, infusing it with a modern twist using buttery croissants.

What Croissant French Toast Tastes Like:

The result is a symphony of textures and flavors—soft and pillowy croissants meet the rich, custodial embrace of the egg and milk mixture. The French toast acquires a golden, crispy exterior while maintaining a sumptuously tender inside. The crowning glory is the Lemon Mascarpone spread, adding a zesty and velvety layer of indulgence. It's a harmonious balance of sweetness, creaminess, and a hint of citrus brightness.

What to Serve With Croissant French Toast:

To complete this regal breakfast experience, we recommend serving the Croissant French Toast with a side of fresh berries and a drizzle of honey. The burst of fruity freshness and the golden sweetness of honey elevate the dish to a true morning delight. Pair it with your favourite hot beverage, be it coffee, tea, or a refreshing mimosa, for a breakfast that feels like a celebration.

Indulge in the opulence of our Croissant French Toast with Lemon Mascarpone—a culinary ode to the timeless charm of French toast, enriched with modern elegance. Bon appétit!
